Along with the latest in technology and an easy-to-use interface, the Magellan RoadMate 700 features a number of notable benefits like the bright, True View 3-D screen with high resolution, full color, and touchscreen capabilities. The screen itself is also self-adjusting, leaving you free to concentrate on the road ahead rather than changing the brightness, even while driving in direct sunlight.

This GPS includes a convenient built-in mapping database of both the continental United States and Canada and there's the option of purchasing additional maps of Europe from Magellan if necessary. And, because the RoadMate comes equipped with its own impressive hard drive, one of the device's very best features, there's no need to worry about handling CDs or uploading maps from your computer.

With more than two million POI (Points of Interest) already programmed into the GPS you'll have more than your pick of places to go and things to see. POI include a wide selection of restaurants, hotels and motels, gas stations, banks and ATM machines, amusement parks, landmarks, local attractions, and so much more. Simply search for POI along your route or nearest your location, then select the Route button and the device will display your turn-by-turn directions.

And, if you ever decide to take a detour along your way for some reason, whether it's an unexpected closed road or you remembered an errand in another direction, the unit will automatically recalculate your new route for you so you can get back to your original destination.

With the Magellan RoadMate 700 you have several different options when choosing your routes as well as room for three different user profiles, which is perfect if more than one person uses one car. Select from routes based on either distance, the amount of time, or total freeway usage. You'll also be able to save up to 100 different addresses in the address book for each user profile for a total of 300 to make each and every return trip simple.

The 700 also offers clear and audible but yet friendly sounding voice prompts that emanate from two built-in speakers giving you ample time to make the necessary turns ahead. And, if you happen to miss an instruction, simply press the Repeat button on the top of the unit to hear the last voice prompt again.
