GPS Navigator by Palmone
The GPS Navigator by Palmone seemed like such a great addition to my Palm. The product description says "The easiest to use, door to door directions finder available for your PDA or smart phone. Get point to point driving directions within major US metros. Instantly calculate turn by turn text or graphic directions right on your device, no connectivity required. Free unlimited access to download additional metros and updates. Mobile Software Card and Getting Started Manual included."
Reality is a different story. Only includes 29 States plus D. C. and 16 of those States only include 1 city. Unless you live in a major metropolitan area, this product is completely useless. Even when you get directions within the city they are inaccurate. They are usually off by 3 or 4 blocks. The maps end at the city limits, so if you have to head just a little into the suburbs, you're out of luck. If you need directions to and from the city, 'Directions on the Go' works fine. Directions are VERY SLOW to load. Difficult to read the maps and the interface is hardly user friendly. Some have reported that the program sometimes crashes and it takes several attempts at entering the data from scratch each time before it takes it (and spits out the incorrect information!). You have to buy an extra SD card to use the maps that you download from their site and their site isn't that user friendly. Even though the price is now down to $9.50 (previously as high as $39.95) as I write this you will find it almost a complete waste of money. Not Recommended!
