Golf Cart GPS
Do You Need Help Finding One?

If you are a golfer that is searching for a golf cart GPS, you might be having a hard time finding a GPS golf device that is meant for your golf cart. The reason for this is that most of those units you might be seeing on the golf course may actually be handheld or pocket-sized devices that are mounted with a portable mount kit to keep the unit safely secured to the cart. There might be a cigarette lighter and power source or a voltage converter or reducer to allow you to power your unit.

There are some that might question the reason you would need a golf cart GPS because they might think it is pretty difficult to get lost on a golf course. You might be surprised, but there are some golfers this happens to, but the main reason most golfers will use the technology is that it gives them an aerial view of unfamiliar courses.

It also gives them the distances to greens from fairways, and they can find out par rankings, find water and sand hazards, get digital scorecards or game analysis tools to improve their golf game. Many golfers think that they help you plan your angle and strategy, and some of the units will give you the distance of your last shot, to help you with club selection.

While there might be some golfers that are familiar with golf GPS rangefinders or software apps that can be downloaded to your PDA or Smartphone, those that are searching for a GPS to mount to their golf cart might want them for a combination of uses. There are so many software choices for golf GPS devices that this is one of the main things you need to research, when you are searching for the best choices.

Just like a computer, the information provided by devices is only as good as the information the software can provide and this is true on any golf cart GPS unit, pocket-sized devices or full-sized golfers units you will find.

One thing you need to compare and be aware of is that there will be annual subscription fees for the golf GPS software and you need to look at the prices on the golf course downloads because some of the annual subscriptions can be $60 and the "per course" downloads can be $20 each. You will probably find that the higher priced golf GPS units might feature lower priced annual subscriptions and might give you golf course downloads for free, but the devices might cost a couple hundred dollars or more.

On the other hand, you can find some of the pocket-sized GPS units for less than $100. It just depends on your particular needs and budget, but getting a golf cart GPS offers you several different options to consider, whether mounted to your golf cart or carried in your pocket. There are many golfers that believe they can help you improve your game and feel like you are familiar with any golf courses you play.
