Similar to the rest of the Nuvi 200 series, Nuvi 260's slim design allows it to fit easily in your pocket or purse.

Features

This is an automotive GPS device that handles up to 500 waypoints. It is the ultra cool Garmin GPS that is designed to provide you with directions to help you get to your desired destination, fast, easy and safe.

As a trip computer navigator, aside from giving you the fastest route to your point of destination, it helps you avoid highway traffic and toll roads. Without the need to take your eyes from the road, the device can announce your exact location and how far you are from your destination. All it takes are a few light taps on the GPS screen. Its widescreen navigator is made user-friendly, making you just a few screen taps away from any place you want to go.

Though Garmin Nuvi 260 GPS is loaded with all essential travel tools, it is also doubles as a JPEG picture viewer, a world travel clock, measurement, calculator, currency converter and more. It is also provided with the Garmin Lock as its anti-theft feature.

Unlike other portable GPS, the product uses configurable vehicle icons, which allows you to customize your car graphics and markers on its location map. The product can readily be upgraded with plug-in SD cards that are loaded with additional GPS Garmin features, making Nuvi 260 perfect for your travel safety and needs.

Right out of the box, it comes preloaded with the City Navigator NT screen maps that include virtually all points of interests that may come along your route, such as hotels, restaurants and fuel stations. When purchased, Garmin Nuvi 260 GPS comes with a few miscellaneous accessories such as suction cup mount, a car power adapter and an SD card preloaded with MapSource City Navigator North America NT maps.

Pros

The touch screen feature is definitely a plus. Its advanced text to speech feature which speaks street names along with its 2D or 3D map display helps you get accustomed with your route's custom points of interests. Beyond ease in navigation, its great convenient features make traveling a breeze. Easy to use, helpful and effective, this slim and lightweight GPS will sure make a great difference to your weekend travels and daily commutes.

Cons

Simplicity is its main draw. One thing about Garmin Nuvi 260 GPS is that it does not support downloaded and pre-determined routes, such as those you have used when hiking or biking, as it is designed for vehicle navigation. It does not have the track and save route features that other Garmin GPS units have.
